Cruising the islands of Croatia with some of the best people in blockchain, on one of the finest superyachts in the Mediterranean. This is not a conference. It is not an "unconference." It is a retreat. A place to truly get away and explore with 35 like-minded individuals while taking in some of the most breathtaking scenery - and party scenes - on Earth.
Freedom is ours for the week, and we can take her wherever we please. Going for a swim in a secluded cove only accessible by boat? Check. Sunset parties and nightlife in Hvar, the St. Tropez of Croatia? Check. Exploring the real King's Landing: Dubrovnik? Check. Lounging on the Sun Deck, sipping on a cocktail in the hot tub or plunge pool as we sail to our next destination in style? Check.
Fresh out of the shipyard, Freedom, measuring in at 158 feet (48.2m), made her debut just a few short months ago in May of 2019. All cabins have their own private bathroom, air conditioning, dressing table/desk area and chair, and windows. The sun deck features both a pool and hot tub - almost unheard of even for the largest of yachts. She is staffed by a full-time crew of 8 (captain, 2 chefs, 2 deckhands, 2 stewards, and hostess), so we will be well looked-after as we make our way along the Dalmatian Coast, exploring atmospheric seaside towns, hidden beaches, caves, a fort-turned-nightclub, a WWII submarine tunnel (!?), and everything in between. She has a full kitchen as well as outdoor and indoor dining areas and a Sun Deck bar, so you can always grab a **** or a refreshing cocktail.
As far as blockchain is concerned, we will have some curated discussions around mealtimes (mainly lunch), though the programming is intentionally light on this front to allow guests to truly appreciate their breathtaking surroundings and new experiences, and the people around them.
Day 1: Split Arrival
Arrive in Split. Embarkation begins at 1 pm. Get settled in and explore the city. Meet your fellow guests and crew at the Welcome Reception in the evening, followed by dinner in the old town. If you're up for it on Day 1, Split is home to a number of bars and nightclubs, or call it an earlier night and relax in the marina on your new home for the week.
Day 2: Split - Brac - Hvar
We set sail in the early morning to the island of Brac, stopping in the town of Bol. Get some beach time in at the Golden Horn, one of if not the best beach in Croatia, with a dramatic shape, jutting out into Adriatic. We continue on to Hvar - an island known for its parties that has to be seen to be believed - in the late afternoon, arriving in style just in time for the sunset party at Hula Hula. Grab a quick dinner before continuing on to the old town where bars spill out into the narrow cobblestone streets. Be sure to save some energy for Carpe Diem Beach, a short and totally worthwhile taxi boat ride away open well into the morning.
Day 3: Hvar - Korcula
On our way to Korcula, we'll stop off at a pristine bay for some swimming off the ship and lunch onboard. Arriving to Korcula in the early afternoon, you'll have a chance to explore the supposed birthplace of Marco Polo and one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Europe. The evening is yours to explore the town. Dinner along the riva (waterfront) or atop the city walls is the move for the evening.
Day 4: Korula - Dubrovnik
We make way for King's Landing in the early morning. Learn more about the real city behind the iconic Game of Thrones location on a guided tour, or explore the city on your own. Walking along the castle walls that encircle the entire old town is highly recommended. Every few steps, a new jaw-dropping angle and backdrop. For evening, sunset and dinner atop the hill overlooking the old town at Restaurant Panorama is a must. Finish the night at a beach club along the water or a fortress-turned-nightclub built into the city walls - or both.
Day 5: Dubrovnik - Mljet
Day 5 - a day to chill after a full-on day in Dubrovnik and what's to come in the days ahead. Plenty of time for swimming in the morning, and in the afternoon we will explore the national park that encompasses Mljet island. Transferring from our yacht, a boat ride is in store for us around the famous salt lakes and to a Benedictine monastery dating back to the 12th century situated on an island in the middle of one of the lakes. Dinner along the waterfront and drinks in the small town or onboard rounds out this more relaxed evening.
Day 6: Mljet - Korcula - Hvar
We'll stop for a swim in a bay near Potirna on Korcula in late morning and before continuing on our way to Hvar over lunch. Take advantage of the afternoon to explore the town and hike up to the Spanish Fortress overlooking the harbor for a panoramic view. Return to your yacht to enjoy the Captain's Dinner onboard, with a front row seat to the scene that is the riva in evening. Dress code for this dinner is white, all white! After dinner, Carpe Diem is at your doorstep and the place to be, and for those looking to continue the night after that, Carpe Diem Beach: round 2.
Day 7: Hvar - Split
Fit in a water skiing session or donut tube ride as we make our way back to Split, or simply relax on the Sun Deck. Take the afternoon to explore the old town of Split. Farewell dinner all together along the waterfront, and a grand finale of an evening at an open-air nightclub with a surprise in store.
